What are CSA, flower shares, and subscriptions?

Community supported agriculture (CSA), flower shares and subscriptions are various terms that describe a similar concept that boils down to this: you are agreeing to pre-purchase several weeks of seasonal flowers which contributes to the success and long term sustainability of local farmers (me!) who care about our now and future environment.

Purchasing a subscription provides financial stability beyond a one time purchase and also helps us to better plan and prepare what we need to grow in a season. It is literally an investment into the farm. It reduces the risk of just growing thousands of flowers and hoping to find the people out there who want to buy them when they are available.

Bouquet subscribers are also given priority on the most fresh, and specialty flowers (ie: ranunculus and lisianthus). Subscribers also get their bouquets at minimum 10% discount compared to buying individual bouquets, and are the first in the loop for giveaways and seasonal specials.

Sharing the risk: Here at the farm, we do everything we can to reduce the risks that come with farming. That said: Mama Nature is the boss around here and she can be whimsical. Severe winds, grasshopper swarms, hail, snow, flooding, and frosts are some (but not all) of the unforeseen events that can damage our beautiful blooms. If crop losses affect your purchase, we will do our very best to make up it by sourcing flowers from other growers, adding additional flowers or offering discounts when necessary.

Agreeing to purchase a flower subscription means you agree to share in the risk associated with farming.
